Activate your Coles Group Card™
Increased protection for your Coles Group Card™
For your protection it is necessary to 'activate' your Coles Group Card™ before you use it. This applies to new Coles Group Cards as well as replacement cards (e.g. if your old card is lost or has expired). You will need to activate your card before you start shopping.
If you have more than one additional card, these cards will be mailed to you separately. Please ensure you have received these cards prior to activating your account.
What is 'Card Activation'?
Card activation is a security measure that reduces the risk of anyone using your card fraudulently. Before you start shopping you need to call 1300 306 585 to verify that you have received your Coles Group Card™ and to 'switch on' or 'activate' your account. When you call, you will be asked to provide certain details. These are specified below in step 2 of 'How to activate your Coles Group Card™'.
What you will need before you call:
Before you call us to activate your card please ensure you have the following information handy:
- Your 'How to activate Your Coles Group Card' leaflet which will be sent to you with your new card.
- Your new Coles Group Card™ number (the 16 digit number on the front of your card).
- Your Coles Group Card™ account credit limit, which can be found on your most recent Coles Group Card™ statement.
How to activate your Coles Group Card™
- Please ensure that each cardholder signs the back of their card using a black or blue ballpoint pen.
- Call 1300 306 585 or activate online.
- Enter the 16-digit card number located on the front of the new primary card holder's Coles Group Card.
- Enter your (the primary card holder's) date of birth.
- You will be asked to either enter your security password* OR your credit limit. If your credit limit has recently changed, please enter the new credit limit.
- Wait for the 'confirmation of activation' message.
* Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten this password – we can ask you some other questions to ensure that the appropriate person is activating your card.
How to activate your additional cardholder(s)
Once you have activated your card you will be given the option to activate any additional cards that are linked to your account.
You will need to follow the same 3 activation steps described above for each of your additional card holders. However, you will only need to enter the last four digits of each card holder's 16-digit card number to activate that card.
